NASDAQ Drags Down S&P 500 Index And DOW As Markets Drop

NASDAQ Close Down 283.09 Points

The market finished lower for all three major indices, as NASDAQ saw a drop of 3.80%, closing at 7158.43 dragging S&P 500 Index and DOW down with it. S&P 500 Index closed down 3.24% at 2700.06, while DOW closed at 25027.07, down 3.10%.

Market Sectors

The market sectors were mixed Wednesday with a majority of the sectors trending down. Utilities saw the biggest increase of the day (0.15%), while Financials saw the biggest drop (4.40%). Healthcare has seen the biggest year-to-date gain at 13%. The biggest loss this year has been the Communication Services sector falling 13%.

Utilities saw the biggest turnaround from its 5-day performance of 2.31%, as it went up 0.15%. Industrials and Consumer Discretionary saw turn arounds from their five day positive performance, Industrials with a drop of 4.35%.

  • Procter & Gamble Co (PG) ended the day at $93.31
  • UnitedHealth Group Inc (UNH) ended the day at $278.55

DOW stocks that hit their 52 week low today

  • Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS) set a new 52 week low of $183.63, but bounced back closing the day at $184.31
